Bonham Carter to receive British film award

Helena Bonham Carter is to receive a special prize at next month's 2010 British Independent Film Awards.

Reuters reports that the actress will be the recipient of the annual Richard Harris Award for lifetime achievement when the honours are handed out on December 5 in London.

Previous recipients of the tribute include Daniel Day-Lewis, David Thewlis and Ray Winstone.

Over the course of her career, Bonham Carter has been nominated for two film BAFTAs and received an Oscar nod for 1997's The Wings Of The Dove.

Also at the 2010 British Independent Film Awards, Irish actor Liam Neeson will receive the Variety Award for helping to focus international attention on Britain.
