The singer will don traditional Indian dress and a red bindi dot for her appearance in the movie Blue.

Joining established actor Akshay Kumar, Mingoue will become the first international star to appear in an "item number", the traditional Bollywood dance.

Helen Mirren is learning Hebrew and Jewish history ahead of her role in upcoming Nazi-hunting movie The Debt, it has been claimed.

The Caligula actress reportedly hopes to absorb the culture of Israel to prepare herself for the part of Mossad spy Rachel Singer.

WENN quotes a source as telling the Daily Express: "Helen has spent the past six weeks reading the history of Israel, Mossad and the life and times of Nazi hunter Simon Wiesenthal and she's learning Hebrew, too.

"She's really taking this seriously and she's totally immersed into the way of life over there."

Seth Green lands on 'Mars' for Disney

Seth Green has signed to star in Disney's forthcoming motion-capture comedy Mars Needs Mums!, claims The Hollywood Reporter.

Based on the children's book by Berkley Breathed, the story follows a young boy who sneaks on to a spaceship in order to rescue his kidnapped mother from aliens.

Green will star as the protagonist Milo, while his Austin Powers screen mum Mindy Sterling will play the alien leader. Joan Cusack has been cast as Milo's mother, while Fanboys star Dan Folger will play his best friend.

Explaining how a motion-capture film is made, Green said: "[It's performed] in a black box theatre with no costumes, no sets, just actors looking into each other's eyes trying to make it real."

The Time Machine director Simon Wells will helm the project for Disney and Robert Zemeckis's ImageMovers.

Previous motion-capture movies include Zemeckis's The Polar Express, while Andy Serkis's portrayal of Gollum in The Lord Of The Rings trilogy also used the method.

Cow pat accident halted 'Victoria' filming

Filming on The Young Victoria had to be halted when star Rupert Friend fell into a cow pat.

Speaking at the film's UK press conference, Friend explained that his co-star Emily Blunt, who plays the eponymous monarch, was struck by a fit of laughter following his accident.

"There is a scene in the film at the end of the honeymoon where they're somewhat jubilant in the rain," he said. "Albert leads Victoria out to dance in the rain with him and I had my hands in my coat and I slipped on a cow pat, and fell into another cow pat. Emily was unable to continue working because she was laughing so hard."

Friend said that his embarrassment was magnified when shooting stopped to allow the crew to replay his fall.

"The crew stopped filming so we could watch the scene on the monitor 20 times in a row," he said. "And it's in the film."

The Young Victoria, which centres on the monarch's marriage to Prince Albert, is released in cinemas on March 6.

Clue will be turned into a mystery that Blind Wink's Jonathan Krauss called "A global thriller and transmedia event that uses deductive reasoning as its storytelling engine."

Green Lantern, Sherlock Holmes & Jonah Hex Release Dates

Source:erc BoxOffice

erc BoxOffice reports that Warner Bros. Pictures has set release dates for Green Lantern, Sherlock Holmes and Jonah Hex, while the last "Harry Potter" movie has been scheduled up against The Avengers and Christopher Nolan's Inception faces Thor.

Here are a few excerpts:Today, Warner Bros. announced the official release date for Green Lantern: December 17, 2010. One of the crown jewels of DC Comics, this will no doubt light up the box office over the holiday season, and marks a changing of the guard for superhero movies. Usually, men-in-spandex drop into theatres during the summer months, but with Iron Man 2, Thor, and The Green Hornet all set for summer 2010, DC wisely chose to corner the holiday market instead. Currently, the film is scheduled to debut the same weekend as Sony's big screen adaptation of the Smurfs. Blue vs. Green. I'm putting my money on green and guessing that blue will find another date that is a lot more smurfy.

The final Harry Potter film also locks down a date: 7/15/2011. Previously, the film, which will focus on the second half of the book The Deathly Hallows, was scheduled for Summer 2011. And guess who else is set to open that same weekend...? Marvel's The Avengers.Yo, Holmes! The studio also announced a new date for Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes: 12/25/09. Previously the Robert Downey Jr. starrer was to open 11/13/09, against Sony's 2012 and Fox's The Tooth Fairy. Now, the film will open Christmas Day along with Fox's Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel, Disney's The Princess and the Frog, and Universal's Untitled Nancy Meyers Comedy.Christopher Nolan's sci-fi pic, Inception, which is based on his original script, drops 7/16/10.Director Jimmy Hayward (Horton Hears a Who!) saddles up Jonah Hex--a western based on the DC comic book character--which rides into theatres 8/6/10. Josh Brolin is set for the title role, while John Malkovich will co-star.

Vinnie Jones 'signs up for two films'

Vinnie Jones has signed up to play criminals in two new films, it has emerged.

He will also play an assassin in the direct-to-DVD prequel from Universal, Smokin' Aces: Blowback.
The film will be directed by P.J. Pesce, and also stars Tom Berenger, Clayne Crawford, Tommy Flanagan and Maury Sterling.
Last year, reports emerged that Jones had become involved in a brawl in a South Dakota bar over a comment made about his role in X-Men: The Last Stand.

Gondry to direct 'The Green Hornet'

Rex Features

Michel Gondry has been announced as the new director of Seth Rogen's project The Green Hornet.
The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind auteur will replace original director Stephen Chow, who decided against helming the film due to time constraints.
Rogen told MTV News: "It's f***ing crazy! "Me and [co-writer] Evan [Goldberg] have always been gigantic fans of [Gondry].
"We just like anyone who thinks outside the box, and there's really nobody who thinks more outside the box then he does. He's really a magician in a lot of ways.
"The Green Hornet will be a great combination of both of our movies, of both of our styles."
He added that it would combine his and Goldberg's conversational tone and attempts at action sequences with Gondry's "wild, visual imagination" and "funny awkward sensibility".
Rogen recently denied claims that the film had been axed by Sony when Chow left the production, while Adam Sandler has been tipped for a cameo role in the movie.

Verbinski tapped for Universal's 'Clue'

Gore Verbinski has been tapped to helm Universal's live-action adaptation of the popular board game Clue, reports Variety.
The Pirates Of The Caribbean director will also produce under his Universal-based Blink Wink banner alongside Hasbro's Brian Goldner and Bennett Schneir.
Discussing the movie, Blink Wink's senior vice president Jonathan Krauss described it as a "global thriller and transmedia event that uses deductive reasoning as its storytelling engine".
A film version of Clue, known as Cluedo in the UK, was released in 1985 and starred Tim Curry.
The latest movie is the result of a deal inked between Universal and Hasbro last year, with the studio aspiring to develop at least four projects based on brands including Monopoly, Magic and Stretch Armstrong.

Blunt: 'Victoria' crown dented my head

Emily Blunt has revealed that she was left with a "dented head" after filming period drama The Young Victoria, reports PA.
The actress, who stars as the youthful monarch in the forthcoming film, admitted that the heavy crown she donned during the coronation scene had a lasting impact on her skull.
"The crown has left a dent in my head which they just cover with makeup so I don't look frightening to you... It's remarkably heavy," she said.
She added that she was also unimpressed at having to wear the "painful" corsets that were fashionable during the Queen's reign.
"I hate the corset. Over it. So over it. Every day I [had] to wear it. They put it on me in the morning then they loosen it off for lunch, and then it's painful to get back into it again after a big meal," she explained.
The Young Victoria is released in the UK on March 6.

India celebrates 'Slumdog' success

The Oscar successes of Slumdog Millionaire and Smile Pinki have been celebrated across India.

Anand Sharma, the country's minister of state for information and broadcasting and external affairs, said in a statement that the Academy Award recognition marked "the finest hour of Indian cinema in the global scenario".

Celebrations took place outside composer A.R. Rahman's home in Chennai after he collected his Oscars for best score and best song for Slumdog Millionaire. In the Mumbai slums, where the film was set, children were also celebrating the movie's award haul, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The CEO of the film's Indian distributor Fox Star Studios hailed the victory as a "historic moment".

Vijay Singh said: "It's an amazing showcase for Indian talent, and to see all the kids and cast and crew of the film on stage was incredible. This film has set the blueprint for the future."

Slumdog Millionaire won eight awards at Sunday's ceremony, including best picture, best director and best adapted screenplay. Meanwhile, Smile Pinki, the story of an Indian girl born with a cleft lip, scooped the Oscar for best short documentary feature.

Allen to return for 'Fame' remake

Debbie Allen has spoken about returning to the New York High School For Performing Arts in the remake of the musical Fame.

Allen, who played Lydia Grant in the 1980 movie and subsequent TV series, told The Mirror that she agreed to take part in the forthcoming film remake because she "felt good about it".

The 59-year-old actress and choreographer said: "The actors are different, but the storylines are pretty true to the original film - it's still very relevant. Kids still deal with the same issues as they did back then. Are they gonna make it? Are they suicidal? Are they gonna do the work?"

Under the helm of Kevin Tancharoen, the remake will carry a budget of around $25 million (£17 million) and feature a mix of stars and unknown actors.

It is scheduled for release this September.

Craven: I might direct 'Scream 4'

Wes Craven has hinted that he may direct Scream 4 if the script and money are right.

The horror heavyweight, who helmed the first three instalments in the slasher franchise, told website Bloody Disgusting that he has not completely ruled out returning for the fourth outing.

"It would take it being as a good a script as the first one was," he said, adding: "[And the] pay day reflects what I've done for [the Weinstein] company and what I've gone through on Cursed!"

Craven confirmed that Scream scribe Kevin Williamson has "made a deal to write" the follow-up but admitted that he has no idea what the storyline will entail.

Last year, a press release for Scream 4 suggested that the film will "re-start the franchise", leading to speculation that the main cast will be replaced by younger, fresher faces.

However, original stars Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox-Arquette and David Arquette have reportedly been approached to make cameo appearances in the long-in-development movie.

Schwarzenegger confirms 'Expendables' cameo

Arnold Schwarzenegger has confirmed that he will be appearing in a cameo role in Sylvester Stallone's The Expendables.

Speaking on ABC's This Week, the Governor of California admitted that he could not turn down the chance to participate in his friend's big-budget action movie.

"Since I've become governor I've done three cameos when friends ask me, and Sly asked me if I would do a cameo," he explained.

"I said of course I would help you do a cameo, there's no two ways about that."

However, he dismissed speculation that his limited contribution in the movie was because of financial restraints.

"It had nothing to do with the budget crisis or with the budget negotiations because that will be done sometime in April," he insisted. "I enjoy him. He's a terrific director, writer and actor. And we hang out a lot of times together."

The Expendables, which is about a team of mercenaries attempting to defeat a South American dictator, is scheduled for release in 2010.

Jewish groups demand Winslet Oscar ban

Jewish human rights organisations have claimed that Kate Winslet should not be awarded a best actress Oscar for The Reader.

Holocaust education groups have denounced the film as "the worst Holocaust film ever made" and a "repellent form of revisionism", claiming that it portrays female prison camp guard Hanna Schmitz too sympathetically.

"Essentially it takes a woman who serves in, is responsible for, is complicit in, you pick the words, in the deaths of at least 300 Jews - and her big secret shame is that she's illiterate," said Mark Weitzman, head of The Simon Wiesenthal Centre.

Trudy Gold, chief executive of the London Jewish Cultural Centre, told Jewish News: "This is just one of a spate of films portraying sympathetic Nazis. This woman acted monstrously, there’s no question about that.

"The question is have we gotten to the point where we have to make heroines out of Nazis? I do find it a bit sick."

Winslet has already won a Bafta and Golden Globe for her role in the movie.
