Eric Bana's hair delays movie release

Rachel McAdams has revealed that her new movie The Time Traveler's Wife was delayed while filmmakers waited for Eric Bana's hair to grow back.

The actress said that Bana's shaved head for his role as the villain in J.J. Abrams's Star Trek led to reshoots being pushed back for the big screen adaptation of Audrey Niffenegger's best-selling novel.

"We wound up doing a reshoot, and Eric was the holdup," Sci Fi Wire quotes McAdams as saying. "He had to shave his head for a different role, for Star Trek, I think. So we were waiting on Eric's hair."

She continued: "We did an additional scene in the meadow, so we were also waiting on the meadow to look the way it did [the first time we shot]. So we were waiting on the seasons. Basically we were waiting on nature and Eric's hair."

The Time Traveler's Wife, about a man with a genetic defect that causes him to involuntarily travel through time, arrives in cinemas this summer.
