Gibbons: 'Watchmen movie was surreal'

Dave Gibbons has said that it was "surreal" to watch the movie adaptation of the Watchmen comics he co-created with Alan Moore.

Gibbons told MTV News that he had given producers notes on an early draft and also did some storyboarding with director Zack Snyder.

He confirmed that this included work on the new ending, which he said that he was "very relaxed" about.

On watching the movie, Gibbons said: "It was completely surreal. When you draw a comic book, you see a movie in your head. You watch the action, you freeze it, you think: 'Yeah, that's the frame we're gonna draw.'

"So, when you see the movie, it's like that - except it's really happening, and everybody else is watching the movie as well."

Gibbons confirmed that, as with other adaptations of his work, Moore would not watch the film.
