Samuel L. Jackson's Mr. Glass Returns in First Split 2 Set Photos
Production for M. Night Shyamalan's Unbreakable sequel Glass is currently underway in Philadelphia and we now have our first look at Samuel L. Jackson as an elder Elijah Price. Fans have been waiting a long time for this, so this is certainly exciting news to see the 68-year old Jackson back as the mysterious comic book collector who was (rightfully) convinced that a regular person, David Dunn (Bruce Willis), has extraordinary superhero powers. Many fans hail Unbreakable as one of M. Night Shyamalan's greatest movies, if not the best.
When M. Night Shyamalan's Split was released last year, many had a bit of a shock at the post-credits scene. Bruce Willis' David Dunn character is seen in a diner watching the news on television about the arrest of James McAvoy's Kevin Crumb character, who hides multiple different personalities. We learn he'll be placed in the same institution as none other than Samuel L Jackson's Elijah Price, aka Mr. Glass. The scene was enough for fans to speculate that they were finally getting a sequel to Unbreakable, which Shyamalan confirmed in the form of a sequel to Split as well.
Filming is taking place in Pennsylvania and we now have our first proper look at Samuel L. Jackson as the elder Elijah Price after all of these years of speculation and practically begging of M. Night Shyamalan to produce a follow up to Unbreakable. Jackson is shown in a wheelchair in a purple suit with purple gloves, revealing that Mr. Glass has not let his fondness for purple fade over the years. In other set photos, we see James McAvoy wearing a long-haired black wig, that may or may not be shown as a joke.
Glass has been 17 years in the making according to M. Night Shyamalan and he's said that he gets "emotional" seeing all of the cast together again, along with the newcomers on set. As for the set, Shyamalan chose to film in Philadelphia once again in an abandoned Allentown hospital. The hospital has been vacant for many years and looks as if it's the perfect place to film the follow up to Split and Unbreakable. The former psychiatric hospital was built in 1912 and closed in 2010.
Split was seen as a return to form for director M. Night Shyamalan and it was solid at the box office. But Glass is shaping up to be a monster and these new set photos have just upped the hype meter for fans that have been waiting 17 years for a proper follow up to Unbreakable. Glass will be the final installment in the trilogy, which will tie in Split to the same world as Glass and Unbreakable and will find Dunn on the trail of James McAvoy's serial killer The Horde and Jackson's older Elijah Price. You can check out some photos from the set of glass, featuring our first look at Samuel L. Jackson as Mr. Glass, below, courtesy of Cario's Twitter account.
Superman Arrives in New Justice League Motion Poster
Superman is finally here. Kind of. With just 10 days left until Justice League hits theaters, Warner Bros. has released a new TV spot, which offers a glimpse at Barry Allen's father, Henry Allen, played by Billy Crudup. Along with news of the overblown budget. But best of all, we get to see Superman in a new Justice League motion poster.
This latest TV spot doesn't reveal too much, with Barry speaking to his father, who is doing time behind bars. Henry tells his son that he's brilliant, and assures the younger Allen that he can do anything he wants. We also get a glimpse at Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) in action, bursting into a courtroom to save a group of people from a machine-gun-wielding madman. This spot also offers a brief glimpse at Amy Adams' Lois Lane, although Superman (Henry Cavill) is nowhere to be found, although ironically he can be found on a new motion poster.
Along with this new footage, an intriguing report just surfaced from the Wall Street Journal, which sheds some new light on the reportedly massive budget for Justice League. After the lengthy Justice League reshoots that took place this summer, the budget ballooned to north of $300 million, although that figure has not yet been confirmed. That massive budget figure could also be problematic when taken into account the rest of this report, which claims audiences' tastes are shifting towards more unconventional superhero stories that follow unique charcters, following the success of Deadpool, Logan, Warner Bros.' own Wonder Woman and last weekend's Thor: Ragnarok, which was largely different than its first two predecessors.
This report claims that Justice League is more of a "crowd-pleaser" that doesn't fit the mold of this new crop of superhero movies fans are reportedly hungry for. This could explain why Justice League box office tracking put the movie at $110 million for its opening weekend, which certainly isn't a "bad" figure, but it would come in $10 million less than Thor: Ragnarok, and more than $20 million below the R-rated Deadpool, not to mention more than $56 million less than last year's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. There will not be another DCEU superhero movie for 13 months after Justice League, with 2018 said to be a "reset year" for Warner Bros. and their DCEU, as they prep for the release of Aquaman on December 21, 2018, which just wrapped production.

John Wick 3 Production Could Start in Spring of 2018
To some surprise, the John Wick franchise has quickly become one of the most adored action series in recent history, with Keanu Reeves bringing another iconic hero to life. Following this years ecstatically received Chapter Two, Lionsgate has pushed forward with John Wick Chapter 3 which now has a release date of May 17th, 2019. Initial rumors suggested that Lionsgate had put the third instalment on the fast track with many believing that production was going to start as soon as this fall. But it seems unlikely that production will start before the end of the year and a new report suggests that production for John Wick 3 has been pushed back to sometime in 2018.
Omega Underground has been tracking on production of John Wick 3 and specifically the casting and location scouting aspects of the production. So far, there hasn't been any movement on the highly anticipated movie leading to speculation that the third movie might not be on as fast of a track as previously assumed. Lionsgate has set the release date for May 17th, 2019, which gives us the impression a spring-summer production start is most likely happening, now that a fall 2017 shoot is unrealistic at this point.
One particular reason for the perceived delay could be that David Leitch is trying to finish post on Deadpool 2, which comes out on June 1st, 2018, before production on Chapter 3 begins, keeping the creative team on board for all three of the projects. No specific plot points have been released as of yet, but it looks as if we will see John Wick in some sort of trouble as star Keanu Reeves stated as much at New York Comic-Con recently. Reeves also mentioned that he's working with director Chad Stahelski, who helmed the second movie and co-directed the first movie with David Leitch.
The franchise has been a success for the studio with a combined $260 million dollars in worldwide grosses and Lionsgate executives have indicated in recent months that they were planning a third movie. Both movies were directed by Chad Stahelski from scripts written by Derek Kolstad with Keanu Reeves portraying a retired hitman seeking vengeance for the killing of his puppy, which was a gift from his late wife. Both John Wick movies featured elaborate stunts and an impressive body count as Reeves fended off numerous gunmen out to kill him. The second movie featured a Matrix reunion with Laurence Fishburne starring.
The John Wick franchise has gained a lot of momentum, and it will be interesting to see if the upcoming third installment will bring Wick's story to a close or if it's another entry in an ongoing series. Judging by the prime May release date, Lionsgate probably wants it to be the latter. More news about John Wick 3 is expected to be announced soon, but in the meantime, check out some more information about when production may start courtesy of Omega Underground.

Ben Affleck Enjoyed “Traditional” Batman Role In Justice League
Ben Affleck has been opening up about playing Bruce Wayne, aka Batman in Justice League in a recent London press junket, with the actor saying it was fun to “have a kind of dry wit” and play a more “traditional” version of the superhero than he did in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Speaking at the event, he explained: “Batman, who is by nature, not necessarily anti-social, but [pretty much] a loner, and in this movie he’s thrust into the role of not only having to work with people but bring them together and convince them to come in and try to be some kind of gel with Wonder Woman to hold all of that community effort together and that was a really interesting thing to play for me, and it also does take us to a more traditional version of Batman in the Justice League comics and his role with the Justice League vs the less traditional version in Batman v Superman where he was blinded by rage and wanted to take on Superman.
“So, it was a lot of fun for me, I also got to have a kind of dry wit, I got to play off Ezra [Miller], which was a lot of fun because he’s so funny and Bruce is always on the verge of exasperation. It was fun to show some other colours for sure.”
Miller of course is taking on the role of Barry Allen in the film, otherwise known as The Flash, and will be joining the Justice League alongside Affleck’s Batman, Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher’s Cyborg and Jason Momoa’s Aquaman, as well as the rumoured returning Superman, played by Henry Cavill.
Forced to work together whether they like it or not, the group will tackle one of the most dangerous threats to planet earth in the form of Steppenwolf and his army of Parademons, all of whom are searching for a trio of Mother Boxes scattered around the globe. Whether or not they’ll be able to get the job done however remains to be seen…
Justice League comes to cinemas across the UK on November 17, 2017.

Jigsaw Somehow Wins Weekend Box Office with $16.2M
The box office was expected to take yet another hit this weekend, with three newcomers arriving, each of which debuting in less than 3,000 theaters. Sure enough, all three movies came in far under expectations, with Jigsaw, the eighth movie in the Saw franchise, coming out on top with a paltry $16.5 million, which managed to come in under even the most modest of expectations. Still, the movie had no troubles coming out on top, with the other two newcomers Universal's Thank You For Serving and Paramount's Suburbicon both severely underperforming.
While Thank You For Your Service was at least a critical hit, with a solid 77% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, Jigsaw and Suburbicon failed to impress the critics, with the Saw sequel earning a 39% score on RT with Suburbicon faring even worse, with a 29% score. Still, Jigsaw has already made its money back from a $10 million production budget, taking in a $5,525 per-screen average from 2,941 theaters. The movie earned the second worst opening weekend gross in the Saw franchise, just ahead of Saw VI's $14.1 million in 2009.
In the 8th installment of the popular Saw series, bodies are turning up around the city, each having met a uniquely gruesome demise. As the investigation proceeds, evidence points to one man: John Kramer. But how can this be? The man known as Jigsaw has been dead for over a decade. But in Saw 8, he doesn't appear to be dead anymore. Tobin Bell returns as the title character with a cast that also includes Laura Vandervoort, Matt Passmore, Callum Keith Rennie, Hannah Anderson, Brittany Allen, Tina Jung, Bonnie Siu and Paul Braunstein.
Thank You For Your Service centers on Sgt. Adam Schumann, who tries to readjust to civilian life after returning home from the war in Iraq. Fellow soldier Tausolo Aeiti must deal with the aftermath of a bombing that left him with a traumatic brain injury. Will Waller searches for normalcy after surviving several explosions, while Michael Emory must deal with the effects of a sniper's bullet to the head. With memories of the battlefield still lingering, the soldiers soon begin their long journey to physical and emotional rehabilitation.
Suburbicon is a peaceful, idyllic, suburban community with affordable homes and manicured lawns -- the perfect place to raise a family, and in the summer of 1959, the Lodge family is doing just that. But the tranquil surface masks a disturbing reality, as husband and father Gardner Lodge must navigate the town's dark underbelly of betrayal, deceit and violence. The movie stars Matt Damon with George Clooney directing. The top 10 is rounded out by Boo 2! a Madea Halloween ($10 million), Geostorm ($5.6 million), Happy Death Day ($5 million), Blade Runner 2049 ($3.9 million), Thank You for Your Service ($3.7 million), Only the Brave ($3.4 million), The Foreigner ($3.2 million), Suburbicon ($2.8 million) and IT ($2.3 million).
Looking ahead to next weekend, Marvel Studios brings the highly-anticipated Thor: Ragnarok into theaters, and while there hasn't been a specific theater count given yet, this Thor sequel will likely arrive in more than 4,000 theaters. The superhero sequel's only other new competitor is STX Entertainment's A Bad Moms Christmas, although that arrives a few days early on November 1. Box Office Mojo reports that, also arriving in limited release that weekend are The Orchard's documentary 11/8/16, Parade Deck Films' comedy Bad Grandmas, Hannover House's drama Battlecreek, Magnolia's action movie Blade of the Immortal, Strand's documentary Dream Boat, Yash Raj's action thriller ITTEFAQ, A24's dramatic comedy Lady Bird, Lionsgate's drama Last Flag Flying, Electric Entertainment's drama LBJ, FilmRise's drama My Friend Dahmer, Archstone's war drama On Wings of Eagles and Vertical Entertainment's sci-fi film Singularity. Take a look at the top 10 estimates below and check back on Tuesday for next week's predictions.

3 Geostorm
4 Happy Death Day
5 Blade Runner 2049
6 Thank You for Your Service

Lethal Weapon 5 Finally Happening with Mel Gibson & Danny Glover?
Article by: Ryan Scott
They may be way too old for this, but it looks like Riggs and Murtagh could be making a return to the big screen after nearly 20 years away. That's right, everyone. It looks like Lethal Weapon 5 may actually happen. A new report claims that Mel Gibson and Danny Glover are both in discussions with Warner Bros. about it. What's more is that Richard Donner, who directed the original Lethal Weapon, is set to direct as well. This potential sequel would also see Channing Gibson (Lethal Weapon 4), returning to write the script.
The report claims that the team is "on board" and are all "huddling on the possibility" of doing Lethal Weapon 5 right now with Warner Bros. It doesn't sound like a deal has been officially made yet, but the talks are happening and we very well could see one last entry in the very successful cop movie franchise. Lethal Weapon 4 came out in 1998, so at the very earliest, it would be 20 years since the last movie came out. To put that in perspective, the first Lethal Weapon was released in 1987. So all four movies were released in an 11-year time span.
Danny Glover's character famously remarks, "I'm getting too old for this s***" in the movie. If that was true 20 years ago, it's true for everyone now. Danny Glover is 71-years-old, so his ability to do an action movie is certainly limited. Mel Gibson is 61-years-old and has been doing some action movies lately, so he's more capable, but still past his prime for a Lethal Weapon movie. Richard Donner is the real X-factor here, as he's 87-years-old and hasn't directed a movie since 16 Blocks in 2006.
Why now is the time remains a bit unclear, but this isn't the first we've heard of Lethal Weapon 5 over the years. At one point, it was being eyed as a reboot. At various points, it was in development with Gibson and Glover and at another, the project was labeled as "dead in the water." Shane Black, who wrote the original Lethal Weapon, revealed last year that he wrote a lengthy treatment for Lethal Weapon 5 that was ultimately scrapped.
"I wrote a 62-page treatment with my friend Chuck for 'Lethal Weapon 5' that would've been, I think, a very good movie. It was interesting. It was essentially an older Riggs and Murtagh in New York City during the worst blizzard in east coast history, fighting a team of expert Blackwater guys from Afghanistan that's smuggling antiquities. And we had a young character that actually counter-pointed them."
To date, the Lethal Weapon movies have brought in $955 million at the worldwide box office. The franchise has remained popular and Mel Gibson is currently having a bit of a career revival. So, despite everyone being pretty old for an action flick, this could possibly work. As Deadline notes, there are "a lot of moving parts" and nothing is final yet, so don't get your hopes up if you're looking forward to this. But it's a seemingly strong possibility Lethal Weapon 5 is going to be a real thing.

A ‘Bad Boys’ Spinoff Starring Gabrielle Union Could Be Hitting the Small Screen
A Bad Boys TV spinoff centered around Gabrielle Union’s character is reportedly in the works.
According to Deadline, the series is currently in development with Union attached to reprise her role as Special Agent Sydney “Syd” Burnett from the 2003 sequel. Union’s character was an undercover DEA operative, the sister of Martin Lawrence’s Marcus Burnett, and the love interest of Will Smith’s Mike Lowrey.
Though the series has yet to find a home, Deadline reports it “has garnered strong interest from multiple” networks. Bad Boys producer Jerry Bruckheimer will executive produce the potential series alongside Jonathan Littman, KristieAnne Reed, and Doug Belgrad, who worked on the movie franchise during his time at Sony. The Blacklist writers-producers Brandon Margolis and Brandon Sonnie have signed on to pen the pilot.
Rumors of a Bad Boys 3 sequel have been circulating for a minute. In a 2016 interview with BBC Radio 1, Smith insisted the project was happening, “I saw Martin [Lawrence] a few weeks ago,” Smith revealed. “I haven’t seen him for about two years. We just looked at each other. We hugged. In that moment, we knew we were making another Bad Boys. We’re definitely doing another one.”
But it doesn’t sound like the film will be confirmed anytime soon. Lawrence recently told Entertainment Weekly that work schedules and prior commitments are getting in the way.
“I don’t think we’re going to get one, not the way everything’s turning out,” Lawrence said. “Will is off doing another movie, and I don’t think it’s going to happen […] I’m there, I’m ready right now,” he said. “If they wanted to do it, I’m ready, but I don’t have control of that. That’s the studio’s decision.”
